Parent Information Center Services
PIC assists families and schools in building strong family/school/community partnerships to increase parental involvement in children’s education, with the goal of increasing student academic achievement.
PIC helps families and schools by:
- providing assistance over the phone
- supporting school change efforts with technical assistance, training, and resources
- distributing family-friendly information
- connecting families for parent-to-parent support
- locating useful resources for families and schools
- sponsoring conferences, roundtables, and public input sessions
- providing advocacy and leadership training
- offering volunteer opportunities
- responding to community needs
- producing DVDs, CDs, and cable access shows on a variety of educational topics
